Weapon Accuracy Mod (v1.1) - File Description

ya ab has returned with an updated version of this mod, with a few ninor changes made, and a major fix to a bug that caused a crash when using the MG42.

If you're one of those gamers that don't care for the weapon sway in Brothers in Arms, or maby you just want to try playing with a steady weapon...then you are in the right place! This mod will increase your accuracy (due to the lack of sway) and will change the game experience by making completing the game a bit easier.

No more lost opportunities for the kill shot, now when you have your enemy in your crosshairs, you can go for the one shot - one kill with confidence.

Changes in this version include:
  • Better accuracy with the Thompson and BAR weapons.
  • A little bit of sway has been put back, for realism.
  • No longer crashes when using MG42 and M1919 light machineguns.

    Refer to the readme for more information.

    Weapon Accuracy Mod (v1.1) - Readme
    Readme File:

    Version 1.0
    * Better weapons accuracy.

    * Now the weapons don't move that much when you are aiming.

    * The Thompson now has 30 bullets per clip and more ammo.

    Version 1.1
    * No longer crashes when using MG42 and M1919 light machineguns.

    * The weapons sway a little more than in the old mod (I thing that adds a little more to the realism, but not so much than it feels like you're drunk)

    * Better accuracy in Thompson and BAR weapons.

    * Do a backup of "gbxinventory.u" and "DefUser.ini" files (In case it still crashes)

    * Replace the files with the ones included in the mod.

    * Enjoy the game.

    * * * => MOD TESTED IN "BROTHERS IN ARMS: ROAD TO HILL 30 v1.10" <= * * *

    PD: Weapon Aim for "Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood" coming soon!(I waiting the game)

    great mod enjoyed using it. a definite improvement, specially on the submachine guns. accuracy is much better. rifles need a little more tweaking though.
    also its not just the weapon accuracy in brothers in arms that needed fixing. the weapon power also needs fixing as well. it still takes two rifle or submachine gun shots in the head or chest to kill an enemy. this is totally unrealistic. any chance of a version 1.2 that fixes the weapon power and tweaks the rifle accuracy a bit more.
    after all rifles are much more accurate than submachine guns.
    keep up the good work. 8/10

     #3 - damage of one shot one kill? - 04-10-2008 at 09:20

    According to my dad, first person account, the m1- garand was very effective at one shot one kill. The 30 -06 was a high velocity heavy bullet, powerful round that in his hands was deadly effective out to 600 yards. He only felt limited by the lack of telescopic sights.
    accordingly the .06 sholuld have a higher kill energy than the german 7mm mauser and require fewer hits on body to kill. one shot at 60 yards should be instant kill Anyone up to making this mod?

    My own battelield rating system at combat yards would be
    50 cal browning 1shot
    30-.06 1shot
    7mm mauser 2 shot
    8mm mauser 2 shot
    45acp 2 shot
    30 carbine 3
    9mm smg.shot 4shot

    It crashes with MG42 as well. Am I supposed to do something with gbxInventory.zip or something?
